| Bedford Register, The The original idea behind the Bedford Register when it was started in 1977 was to form a complete list of all preserved Bedford coaches, buses, lorries, vans, camper vans, fire engines and military vehicles in Britain. | Bedford Steam Preservation Society The Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society was formed on February 27th 1956. Its first steam rally was in 1957 at Woburn Park where it was very well attended by engines from all over Bedfordshire and surrounding counties.It has since then, expanded its activities to accommodate for today's changing steam engine movement. | Black Country Live Steamers, The Formed in 1993 the society now has over 50 members, their interests are in the building and operating of miniature steam road vehicles and stationary steam plant, along with some full size counterparts. We are situated in a part of the West Midlands known as The Black Country, the name being derived from the effects of the heavy industry which concentrated in the area from the time of the industrial revolution, majority of which has now disappeared.
