The
Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society
was formed on February 27th 1956. Its first
steam rally was in 1957 at Woburn Park where
it was very well attended by engines from
all over Bedfordshire and surrounding counties.It
has since then, expanded its activities
to accommodate for today's changing steam
engine movement. The Society stage a rally
in the grounds of Shuttleworth House, Old
Warden in Bedfordshire during September
each year.

1982 when Ransomes, Simms and Jefferies

production. The company held a number of
special anniversary events that year organised
by, Perry Crewdson, the public relations
officer at the time. These culminated with
a special exhibition at the International
trade exhibition organised by the Institute
of Groundsmanship at Windsor Racecourse
that September.
