A ship with no heart
By: Web Editor
I READ the article on the restoration of the Nomadic (OG 259) with interest.
Being a resident of Northern Ireland, I was looking forward to seeing it restored, particularly the engine room, where my interest lies. I knew there was nothing left of the engines, but I thought there might be a replica, as has been achieved with SS Great Britain.
I must disagree with the plan to turn it into a classroom. Surely something could be done to recreate the, in my mind, heart of any ship?
