'Secret' visit to Isle of Man
By: Web Editor
I REFER to OG 245 and the news of the visitation of 34 restored commercial vehicles to the Isle of Man in May.
Orry Mitchell bemoans the lack of advance publicity given to the recent visit of classic commercials to the Isle of Man, on what was ostensibly a private visit by a group of private owners. The commercials are seen here leaving the TT Grandstand on 19 May. MALCOLM RANIERI
It was a wonderful sight to see them, but unfortunately many people have remarked to me that it is a pity that there was no advance publicity to tell like-minded enthusiasts of their impending visit.
If they were to visit the Island again our club and other individuals would like to be involved in showing fellow enthusiasts the Isle of Man. There are a number of local authorities who would have liked to have the vehicles on display in their areas.
Anyway – it was a brilliant sight for those of us who were lucky enough to see them.
