Steam Threshing helps windmill restoration funds
A Steam Threshing Day will be held at Bardwell Windmill near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP31 1AD on Sunday 15 August.
Threshing at Bardwell Windmill, Suffolk
The Wheeler family are delighted to be staging their fourth annual Steam Threshing day, with their 1920 Ruston traction engine 'Oliver' driving a similar aged Marshall threshing machine, threshing wheat cut in the field opposite the windmill.
An open and extended invitation is given to all to visit. There is plenty of space for any vintage tractors and vehicles who would like to turn up to this informal and enjoyable day, with all funds raised going towards the ongoing rebuilding work of new sails for the Windmill.
Traditionally baked bread in the mill bakery along with refreshments, tombola and craft stalls.
Event is organised by the Friends of the Windmill, further details 01359 251331.
